Window Rock/Fort Defiance Lion's CLub

The Window Rock / Fort Defiance Lions Club is a member of Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service association. Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired. This service began when Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness" during the association's 1925 international convention. Today, in addition to the international SightFirst program, Lions extend their commitment to sight conservation through countless local efforts.

Lions are also involved in a variety of other activities to improve their communities and help people in need, such as assisting the hearing impaired, providing diabetes awareness and education materials, working on environmental projects and developing youth programs.

The Window Rock/Fort Defiance Lion's Club Orgainzation is located in Window Rock, Arizona on the Navajo Indian (Nation) reservation. The Navajo Nation covers the corners of three states: Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. The Navajo Nation is the largest reservation in the United States, covering 27,673 square miles.

Our goal is to earn money through fundrasing efforts to assist the blind and the visually Impaired in the various communities on the Navajo Nation.
