The LCI President's visit turned out to be a whirlwind tour. Two eyescreening vans, one from AZ and one from NM, were present. Navajo children and the elderly were screened and fitted for new glasses. Then LCI President met Navajo President at the Window Rock. A luncheon was hosted by the Window Rock/Fort Defiance Lions Club at the Quality Inn for guests and other Lions Clubs from New Mexico and Arizona to meet the honorable Lions International President. Navajo children entertained and Miss Navajo sang. Lions were recognized for their achievements in organizing and conducting the day's events. Thereafter the President went on to visit a Navajo family guided by WR-FD Lions Georgia and Shirley. By late afternoon, LCIP Al Brandel and wife, Maureen Murphy, said their goodbyes and flew on to the next part of their journey.
